Take Reyes. 1st base is deep and you can pick up a good one in the 3rd or 4th round. Never take a pitcher so early, he is only good once every 5th day. SS is weak and if you grab Reyes he will give very good numbers across the board, hard to pass on a dominating SS when you can pick up power hitters throughout the draft. Soriano or ARod would be other great choices, Soriano is a slight gamble though as players that sign huge deals with new teams tend to struggle early. ARod is one of maybe 5 great 3rd sackers and his numbers dont lie, it doesnt matter how he is percieved as his fantasy numbers are top 5 every year. Nobody has to like someone, this is fantasy so numbers should be the only thing players are judged by, too many wont draft someone because what they think or hear about a player. Draft smart and get your hard to fill spots covered first, some positions are very weak after the top 4 or 5 and the guys that recognize this win fantasy leagues more often than not. I won 6 of 8 Yahoo leagues last year (to go with a 3rd & 4th) and never drafted a starting pitcher before the 9th round in any of those leagues because of the depth thing....I had guys like Liriano, Verlander, Josh Johnson,Wang-Ming ,Matt Cain, etc. If you want to have a Santana on your team then draft Ervin Santana, he should have a pretty solid year and could be had pretty late. Draft smart, not based on favorite players or teams and you will do well.

Depends on your league settings, 4x4 or 5x5 Roto or head to head. Reyes will give you Runs, SB's a decent BA (300) and can contribute to the tune of 18-19 HR's and around 70RBI's. Ortiz and Howard won't be there so you will be looking at Hafner, Manny, Jeter or Rollins - if you take Rey you will probably want to fill a power spot with your number 2 pick but if you take power first with Soriano which will also get you runs and SB's, you can fill that SS with Rollins or Jeter and then have a 3B coming back on your third pick of most likely Aramis Ramirez or wait until later to get Chipper Jones or Scott Rolen. That should set you up for the next pick of a closer and starter. Then leave you with later round 1B-2B picks like Jeff kent, Todd Helton, Giambi, Iguchi, Sanchez
But if want some big pop, start with Soriano in Wrigley with Lou coaching. That's 50-50 season written all over him. That is if D Lee and A-Ram don't round trip him all year.
So, that is the strategy I would use - plan the rest of your picks based on your first but I would take Soriano as number 2.

Pitching is hard to draft this year so with the second pic i would take him. Overall hitting go with Alfanso Soriano but power ryan howard is the next best. If you like Ortiz soo much trade your first and second round pick and get like a Ortiz Rayes combo

I wouldnt pick ryan howard because there is a lot of depth at 1st base. If you want to be safe pick Johan Santana! He'll give you 20 wins and an under 3.00 era.. Also if you want to take a chance Jose Reyes has a chance to win the Batting Title this year.

There are a lot of great hitting 1Bs...I think Santana is the most worthy choice at #2. He is as close to a guarantee as you're going to get in pitching today. He may not be the most popular choice at 2 but he'll make you sleep better at night.

There's a bigger advantage between Santana and the rest of the pitchers and there will be alot of good hitters by the time it comes back to your pick.
