Fascists in Italy and Germany came to power in the midst of economic crisis, the collapse of constitutional government, and the fear of socialist revolution.

In 1914, the European war spilled over into other parts of the world, especially in Africa and Asia. In Europe itself, the British used Indian troops on the western front, as did the French, who brought in large numbers of troops from its colonies in North Africa

Rita, the fastest growing religion is said to be Islam, although I've seen no supporting documentation.

True. The Europeans were mimicking the U.S. and followed us right into a major economic depression. Hitler and Mussolini both capitalized on the moment, lied, cheated and stole their way into power. Hitler played heavily upon people's fear of a Socialist Uprising.

True. The opening decades of the 20th century were the ending of the era of colonization. In Germany, some fifty years earlier -- at the absolute height of colonization, Germany's Prime Minister Otto von Bismarck stated that "Germany's interests lie in Germany..." and therefor did very little to expand into Africa and elsewhere. By the time of the Great War (AKA WW I), the other Eurpoean countries having colonized the various regions of Africa and now involved in the war, conscripted the people of their territories to fight in their war. If asked, I would have to say the biggest disaster of that war -- involving colonies, would be Sir Winston Churchill's diversionary tactic with an assault at Gallipoli. Thousands died and it was purely on Churchill. He later "redemed" himself by taking a much lower position in command and chose to live and dine with "the troops." From that point on, if ever someone wanted to get his goat, they only need mention the name Gallipoli and he'd immediately shut up and take a seat.

Religion is the adherence to codified beliefs and rituals that generally involve a faith in a spiritual nature and a study of inherited ancestral traditions, knowledge and wisdom related to understanding human life. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to faith as well as to the larger shared systems of belief.

In the larger sense, religion is a communal system for the coherence of belief—typically focused on a system of thought, unseen being, person, or object, that is considered to be supernatural, sacred, divine, or of the highest truth. Moral codes, practices, values, institutions, traditions, and rituals are often traditionally associated with the core belief, and these may have some overlap with concepts in secular philosophy. Religion can also be described as a way of life.

The development of religion has taken many forms in various cultures. "Organized religion" generally refers to an organization of people supporting the exercise of some religion with a prescribed set of beliefs, often taking the form of a legal entity. Other religions believe in personal revelation and responsibility. "Religion" is sometimes used interchangeably with "faith" or "belief system," but is more socially defined than that of personal convictions.
