The Mex soccer federation doesnt know how to work a long term plan, or execute it for that matter. Look at the league, the clubs have made it a ritual to fire managers after a few rounds of play, without giving them or the players a chance to develop a style of play. Also, clubs do not spend enough time or money in the developement of younger players. The work ethic of Mex clubs is very poor they need to get to work instead of trying so hard to look cute.The comparisons to Brazil and Argentina need to stop Mex doesnt come close and won't if they continue to neglect their youth academies, and the managerial musical chairs need to stop. The clubs and country need to take the time to hire the right person for the job and let them work.

Mexico has actually improved drastically over the years, but they are perennial under-achievers when it comes to World Cups.
There are about half a dozen Mexican players currently in Europe, and the league [with Pachuca's conquest of the Copa Sudamericana] is positioning itself as one of the top two in South America, only behind Brazil.
Tragically, the 2006 roster presented by Mexico at the WC was one of their best, but the coaching was not up to par.

Their situation is very similar to the US. They need to get more players in Europe against World Class competition. The Mexican League or MLS isn't going to prepare anyone for International success. They also need to play more challenging friendlies away from home. Taking part in the Copa America is a huge step in the right direction for both teams. They'll play solid teams in a hostile environment.
