Dave Chappell's the man. Not only funny, but insightful.
They all had tv sitcoms of some sort. Pryor had a 70's show that failed after four episodes and a reoccurring character,"Mudbone" in standup. Murphy had Buckwheat & Gumby on Saturday Night Live and two notable standups-- Raw & Delirious. As far as tv goes, Dave Chappell has made "Tyrone Biggams", Rick James, Prince, Lil Jon, "Crack Baby" and a host of other characters household names in just two tv seasons. Let's also give him props for "I'm Rich B****." Who can say that without at least a grin?
As far as his standup, just think back to HBO's "One Night Stand", the other HBO special Killin' 'Em Softly" and the Showtime special, "For What It's Worth".
To be fair, watch one standup recorded by each individual & see who really makes you LOL. It's Chappell hands down.
Now, ask me how I feel about the price of tickets to see a good comedy show...... #@#^$$#$#^%$@*(*&(&*

richard pryor was a genius. he was able to be funny just by the expression on his face. pryor could tell a joke, tell a story, be the joke and be the story. his language was bad but not vulgar. He rank with other greats, redd foxx, bill cosby and mom's mabley.. Now Chris Rock is funny. dave chappelle and Eddie Murphy are okay. charlie murphy is funnier than both of them.

I'm not impressed with Chappelle. Pryor was great. I saw Murphy in concert once. I laughed so hard, I was exhausted, and couldn't laugh any more.
