I'm guessing that the kids that watched that show are now the adults writing and designing the new-age cartoons. I personally was never crazy about smurfs but I won't knock 'em either. I have to say, it was awkward having only one female amongst them (things that make you go 'hmm).
I do miss the family programs like Alf for example. I guess when your a kid, your perception of TV is so much different as an adult.
If they'd just do away with the slutty looking cartoon characters, I think it would be a better nation.

I think that technology has really taken the imagination out of kids of today! Smurfs rock

I know! It's so surreal. But they're starting to bring back the classics with new designs and themes. Like the Teenage Mutant Turtles....I saw where they have Fragglerock (spelling?) on DVD, Thundercats, everything. But hey the current generation has their own shows....let them have their own memories of shows that gonna pass.
