WASHINGTON (CNN) -- 19 Republicans joined Democrats on Friday in passing a two-sentence resolution denouncing President Bush's plan to boost troop levels in Iraq.
House passes resolution opposing Bush's Iraq policy 246-182.
"The president has gone against the advice of his own generals and the will of the American public," said James Thurber, a Republican. "I think the president is out of touch with respect to what the American people want. It shows in the polls."
get him gone. he is the head of this corrupt administration. if you don't believe me that it's corrupt, look back at how many Republican leaders were in some sort of scandal. Money=power. Money+power=corruption. give a man an inch and he'll take a mile. Give Foley a boy, and he'll run 50 miles. with the boy.

the war cost is how many trillion of dollars now?
they said its enough to have built 35k schools in the US. Gotta love it. the american public is screwed becuz bush didn't like that some world leader tried killin dad!

Bush's daughter, American's did not vote Bush into office twice. In case you haven't noticed, Our govt. is corrupted and there is no way in hell Bush won the election twice. Money and power rules. You really think all those dead soldiers' family, friends, acquaintances voted for him a second time? YEAH FRICKEN RIGHT. Don't talk about what you don't know "ABOOT".

Bush is an idiot, theres no denying that. He does not care how many people he sends to the war to be killed because if he runs out he will just have a draft. Our only hope is that we can last until time for a new president who can hopefully restore some peace .

You cant even blame the people who voted for him because he stole the election.

He might change, but unlikely. The only thing guaranteed is that we can change ourselves.

So, this is the difficult one that many Americans (and others) have to deal with for now. Bush is president. It doesn't make sense, but that's the reality. Is he going to change? No. He hasn't so far. He'll be in another 2 years. That's a pretty long time. Heck, I've had a great memorable relationship that never even lasted that long.

It's a painful lesson, but that's why Americans can vote again in 2008. The real question is, are people going to vote his party in again, or are they going to let that party do a bit of introspection?

Just imagine the things he does that you don't even hear about! We hear what the media finds out, and that's it. I'm not a huge Michael Moore fan, but at least that guy went out of his way to present some very interesting questions. What I don't understand is that Bush was re-elected even after that movie came out. I encourage you to watch it if you haven't already, or give it a second watch.

Americans are comfortably numb right now. It seems like there's a bit of momentum to change that though with the upcoming elections. Still, too many numb people.

Another 9/11 is waiting to happen. If I was an Iraqi and my sister was raped, my house destroyed, and my parents killed by Americans because "it's a war against terror" I might just want to show someone what terror really means. (I personally wouldn't do that, but I can definitely see that happening in others).

Praise God I'm Canadian. I used to think the U.S. was a cool place. I still do, but there's no way I would even take a Florida vacation while Bush is still in office. No use in paying sales tax which would actually go to pay for Iraq. I don't think the greatest of the Canadian government either, but at least the soldiers deployed to Afghanistan are helping rebuild people's lives as opposed to destroying them. At least I can travel places and people welcome me once they realize I'm not American. Americans keep fooling themselves by saying that the U.S. is so multicultural. Toronto is actually the most multicultural city in the world. They fool themselves into believing that they are the home of the free, yet they kill people in the name of "freedom." Americans can't even laugh at themselves without the aid of Canadians. Half of the really famous "American" comedians are from Canada.

Bush has a thick head. Americans voted him in twice.

USA and Britain have fought together ever since the day that Blair and Bush started this illegal war. The vast majority of feeling here in England is, and has always been, that we do not want our troops to be in Iraq.

I think that we will now go our separate ways. Whilst you seem intent on committing more forces, we have begun very tentative steps towards pulling out many of our troops. Blair has no power now, however, he realises that he can't carry on defying the country's wish. Nothing has officially been announced but "the wheels of motion" have been put in place. The Government will now be carrying out a damage limitation job.

The only difference between Libs and Republicans is that the Democrats own the major media. money + power= corruption? You should talk to Bill and Hillary about that. And what happens if you give Barney Frank a boy? He turns his house into a prostitution ring. And why build all those schools? Democrats have seen to it that this country is so dumbed down that public school is worthless. Take you for instance

He won't. Bush believes in what he is doing just like religious zealots believe in what they are doing. He believes he has a clear vision of the way that things should be and anyone who disagrees with him must be a lefty-pinko and not worthy of his consideration. Hitler was very similar in his "clear vision".

US must already withdraw from Iraq and fight terrorism through other methods. The Al Qaeda network in Iraq was already disbanded with the death of Saddam Hussien.
