My sister checked into a domestic violence shelter last night because her husband took a paint stick out and swatted her in the butt. Before she checked in, she told me it was because she burnt the pot roast and this was not the first time this happened to her. I guess what I am wondering is, will the shelter teach her to cook a tender pot roast so this won't happen again? If not, I was planning on offering to help her learn to cook better because I don't want her to get hit again.

i don't think that her learning how to cook a pot-roast will stop ur sisters husband from hitting her again. If its not the pot roast it will be something else. ur sister needs to seek professional b/c domestic viloence can get worse than being hit by a paint stick. she should seek help for her and her husband, perhaps they can work things out w/out the violence. if not, she should rethink the relationship.

First of all, a Domestic Violence Shelter is there to HELP PREVENT ABUSE ... and FURTHER Abuse of the VICTIM/Survivor and/or the children. Its purpose is to provide a SAFE HAVEN for the Victim/Survivor in transition .. and to help them obtain services (Which can include transitional housing, medical care, and other programs including Restraining Orders, and yes, being there as support for the Survivor of Domestic Violence as they go through the legal process of testifying against the perpetrator of this abuse.

That your sister was ABUSED is clear -- there is NOTHING That she did that is cause for her to be BEATEN by her spouse. A burnt pot roast? Since when does that justify being beaten?

Sounds like you are really young, naive, or a combination of both. This is not a joking matter at all, for NO ONE deserves to be Abused, Beaten or killed by someone in their family or whom they are married to.

Violence hostile to adult men is against the law and violence hostile to women folk is against the law. If I referred to someone being overwhelmed up in the line i'd be basically as in all probability to step in and attempt to end it if a lady grow to be hitting a guy or a guy grow to be hitting a lady. kinfolk violence isn't justice as people do not should be dealt with like that. xxx xx x

Wow he gave her a swat on the butt....... She needs to toughen up and learn how to cook and be a better wife. Then maybe there wouldn't be a reason to paddle her.

Perhaps cooking the husband would solve both problems.
