Why invade? We'll just send out an invitation! We constantly complain that you have it so good in the States. We are envious of your affluence. We can't enter your contests. We can't cross the border unless we have a passport. Your dollar value is higher.
On the other hand, we don't pay for medical. Our pregnant women can go to a doctor as often as they wish without being billed. I can go in for any ache or pain and not be billed. Our car insurance is lower (at least it is here). We get the cool animated emoticons on 360. You come up here to visit. Your producers seem to like Alberta and BC for movie settings. Yes, we do supply you with natural gas and oil and we do speak French. However, many think that is forced down our throats. I think our housing is more affordable.
I'll leave you to ponder the in's and out's of this suggestion. I think, on the whole, you should just wait for the invitation.

That's only a good idea if you're hoping to experience WW III in your own lifetime. Because America wouldn't just be at war with Canada. The United States would be at war with most of the planet. England, France and Germany within 24 hours.

Edit:

""Canada's estimated oil reserves was raised from total conventional oil reserves of around 5 gigabarrels to the much larger figure of around 180 gigabarrels by the inclusion of the Athabasca Oil Sands deposit by the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (AEUB) [1], placing Canada second only to Saudi Arabia.[2] Other estimates (BP Statistical Review of World Energy) place Canada's petroleum reserves in the 17 gigabarrel range, by only counting oil sands under development. Although Alberta contains about 75% of Canadian conventional oil reserves, most of the other provinces and territories, especially Saskatchewan and offshore Newfoundland, hold significant production and reserves.[3]"

"United States proven oil reserves declined to a little more than 21 gigabarrels by the end of 2004 according to the Energy Information Administration, a 46% decline from the 39 gigabarrels it had in 1970 when the huge Alaska North Slope ('ANS') reserves were booked.""

Canada is a close ally of the United States. Thus, it cannot be invaded for its oil. It is better to invade countries with oil that are not supportive of the USA just like Iran.

The North American Free Trade Agreement and New Pan-American Corridor will take care of that in the next ten years and an invasion will not be necessary as Mexico and Canada are likely to be subtly incorporated into the USA. Sadly, it appears our national sovereignty is in jeopardy and will be sold out to the New World Order.

Let's think about this for a minute. Is Canada's Prime Minister doing a better job than our President?

How about inviting Canada to take over America temporarily...until the next election?

We don't invade Canada for commodities that we need simply because we can buy it at will at a mutually agreed price. We both are countries who recognize the mutual benefits of sane, non- coersive trade. The Middle East countries, however, although they have benefited beyond measure similarly, have adopted extortion of unfair trade practices disruptive of wealth free flowing to them and us. They do it for obvious political ends. We got oil that moved our economy. They got dollars to buy palaces and grovel their teeming masses. We are not to blame for the latter. Perhaps, I could construe that to spread those dollars to their masses, they would create a middle class that may throw them out. We have more interest in economic goals; they also have political concerns and a fear of bringing there own out of poverty by blaming us. What has been wrong with the U.S. buying their oil? We certainly weren't stealing it! It's called free trade!!!

If the U.S.A. ever invaded Canada the world would step up to her defence. Canada is well respected in the World and has many strong allies.

You seem to do whatever that idiot in the white house says........how do we know we arent next? How did you like it when the us was under attack? How can you people infect the rest of the world with that kind of hate? How do you know bush wont invade his own country to stay in office? Maybe you people will enjoy living under military law more than the iraqi people are.

Since we don't invade countries for oil, or simply speaking French, the answer is "NO."

If we wanted oil we could just give in to the World's demands and stop being allies with Israel, then Iran would give us all the oil we want!

Besides, Canada is O.K., They're allies, despite being heavily indoctrinated against the U.S. (have you ever seen CBS kid's shows?!?)

It's where 19 year olds go get drunk on weekends. (At least here along the border)
