Just wondering. Thanks in advance to those that answer. Additional details of why the breathing rate goes up or down would help.

Faster. As the temperature increases, the oxygen levels in the water decrease. Also, as temperatures increase, metabolism increases, so more oxygen is needed. Fish are also cold blooded, so would be more active at the higher temperatures, and would also need more oxygen because of that.

Faster for two reasons. The one everyone got decreased O2 levels in the water, but also because the fishes metabolism is increased at higher temperature creating even more of an O2 demand in the fish.

Usually faster I would imagine because the oxygen level of the water goes down and the metabolic level of the fish goes up.

A fish breathes faster when the temp. goes up because when it heats up, the water holds less and less oxygen (which fish breathe) so it's like trying to breathe with less oxygen in the air, for us. Hope this info helps.

P.S. You could call Fins, Feathers, Paws, and Claws for additional info.

Faster, because as the temperature increases, the amount of oxygen in the water decreases.
