Straight people, gay people...they all say bisexuals are "confused" or hiding from their true sexuality...why? Is it so hard to believe that if you can live on one end of the spectrum (gay or straight) that you can also live in the middle? (as in, bisexuality)

I'm not asking this question to whine, or to upset...I'm seriously wondering...

Sorry, I shouldn't have said everyone...just a portion of the population...quite a large portion, it seems.

They say that because they don't understand how someone can like both sexes...when they only are able to fall for one...

I, personally believe that bisexuals are the most open minded of all people, because they believe love is not ruled by the sex of someone, but of who that someone IS...

Most people only see the world in black and white...you're either in or you're out. Republican or Democrat....Religious or not...Enemies or Allies...the people that are neither or are in the middle...are ALWAYS frowned on...because it's part of human nature to 'take a side'...

I didn't date until college, and dated guys. I met a lot of lesbians and assumed everyone had gay friends. After marrying and divorcing a guy (5 yrs), I started dating women. It freaked me out when I found out you could also be bisexual. I don't think I could imagine having that many choices! I thought you had to pick "a side", since you were considered confused, or were refusing to deal with your internalized homophobia, or were immoral, depending on whether you talking to a straight person, gay person or a fundy. There's a gay community, the default heterosexual society, but it feels like bisexuals are still treated like the people living secretly in the basement, that no one wants to see. oh, I was with a woman for 15 yrs...doesn't sound like I was confused or going through a "phase". I was out and active in the gay community, so sounds like I dealt with some of that internalized homophobia. I started dating guys cause it seemed different again. After a couple of years, I"m now living with a guy. I think for many people, it's too scary to consider there is any other way of life other than the one they are living...it's too confusing to acknowledge all your emotional and physical feelings, let alone allow yourself to act on them.

people have this internal instinctive need to act in a way that they think is "normal" and they expect 100% of the world to act the same way as they do. those who differ are seen by society as deviant.. they can't possibly accept that some people really are born left handed, and that some really are born bi or trans..

but i think you'll find that most people in the LGBT family are accepting of bisexuals.. yet at the same time, they may seem confused about people who are straight for years then all of a sudden announce they are gay. that kinda sends the wrong message when we know we are actually born with our orientaitons..

That guy at the top can't seem to come up with an original damn idea, can he?

But yeah, I agree with you. People bag on the bisexuals way too often ... how is a straight person to know the mind of a gay man, and how are either to know the mind of a bisexual?

I say, more power to ya!

Because there are ignorant people of all stripes. Personally, I like bisexuals since I'm a pre-op transperson. They're about the only people I can date, and also know what it's like to get crap from both ends of the sexuality spectrum.

i think people look down on it because they dont really know very much about it. the human race always frowns upon the unfamiliar. but no i dont think bisexuals are necessarily confused. and yes it angers me as well when people say that... cuz like how would they know?? have they ever been curious? gay? or bi? if they are frowning upon it then probably not.

if i were u id just try to ignore them. they are just being ignorant.
move on and forget what others think. think about yourself and your own feelings on how you are. that should help you :]

yup. 3 of my acquaintances got here out as bisexual, (i'm gay) and one in all my bisexual acquaintances is in the closet. you already know that saying "inebriated females under no circumstances lie"? properly, they are needless to say real to their thoughts whilst they are wasted... why else might they make out with different females? besides a homophobe right here and there, anybody has some bisexual/bicurious dispositions right here and there... anybody.

It is well within human nature to be attracted to people of the same sex as you, while still liking people of the opposite sex. It isn't an abomination at all, it's an example of the grey areas that make up so much of life. You don't have to be one or the other.

Because so many of us went through h*ll growing up learning to like ourselves for loving ONE SEX. So, when we finally do accept ourselves we have a bit of a problem with people who say they love both. It just seems a bit of a cheat.

Personally, I think bisexuality is as right as rain and as natural as can be. I think they should be applauded for their acceptance of themselves and of their love for both sexes.

Because It's true You are confused. I don't expect to be chosen as best answer. Just delivering the truth. People like to hide behind what they like to do and say oh , what's wrong with it? when all the time they have this hidden guilt inside. @pts
