Great question. Welcome to the patriarcial world we live in. More than anything, it is great that women like yourself are starting to ask that question instead of accepting it and then living up to the stereotype (weak submissive female waiting to be rescued by a male). It is definietly perpetuated by most if not all religions, cultures and therefore society. When i listen to people like Oprah, Tyra Banks, christina aguleira, condeliza rice etc, I am glad that we are moving in the right direction. More and more people are becoming role models for women to realize that we are not the weaker sex.
Kudos to you, and don't let society or your gender limit your dreams hopes and achievements in life

Women are weaker in the physical sense, I was told many years ago by an adult woman that men were good for two things sex and too lift heavy things, women did the rest.

Because physically speaking women are weaker. This has to do with biology and is not the "fault" of women just like men can't be seen as any less because we can't bear children....

Gender has no longer something to do with how good or vulnerable a individual is. Neither does a individual's "mouth" verify their capability. somebody would have a huge, and filthy, mouth to conceal up for being incredibly vulnerable, and that they do no longer prefer to reveal that trait to all people. while, somebody who's quiet would be very good willed, and actual. Get them offended, and don't be shocked while they wreck you.

I think it is because, historically, males are, in general, physically stronger and larger than females.

We must admit this. For instance, I needed the help of my male friend to put a super heavy 27" TV on a table. I couldn't even move it, but he was able to lift it and didn't let me help him. And he's shorter and 2 yrs younger than me!

Strong vs. Weak.

For the most part it is muscle mass that makes a difference as well as bone size and density. On the other hand I doubt the strength of male should he be in labour.

it may have been a small argument thousands of years ago. but it's a slippery slope type of deal, more and more people caught on. it could have just as likely been the other way around. but. it wasn't.
