This is my best suggestion other than go to a qualified vet> Go to www.guinealynx.com

Register as a member. Then go to the medical forum and ask your question. You will probably get alot of answers like "go to the vet asap", but someone there might be able to tell you what to do during the meantime. All the people that frequent that site are extremely knowledgable and a couple are even vet techs.

If your pig is not eating, its SERIOUS. Try soaking some of her pellets in some water to make a sort of mush. You will need to hand feed her this mush (about every 2 hours around the clock) with a small 1cc syringe or even a drinking straw if thats all you have. If she stops eating for any length of time, she will die, so its critical that she have food and liquids. Try some Pedialyte if you have it. If not water is the next best thing for liquids. Use a syringe or straw with small amounts at a time. Do not forcefully squirt the liquids or mush into the pig's mouth or the pig will aspirate it into its lungs.

Do this quickly. Time is of the essence.

because she is so small this is an emergency. Get in touch with the vet. find out what to do he might be able to call a script in for at a local drug store. Maybe but we don't know untill you call. I know that is what the vet did for my dog that got a cat scratch on her eye. It swelled to the size of a soft ball the weather was inclememnt and closed cause off flooding.

You are not going to see ear mites as they are microscopic. You will really need to take your dog to the vet so he can examine the ears and determine the cause of itching. It could be ear mites but it could also be an infection that requires antibiotics. There are also certain food and environmental allergies that can cause ear problems. Until you are sure of the cause of scratching, it is imossible to treat the ears properly. Please see your vet asap for an evaluation and proper treatment.

Sounds like you need to toughen up and take her to the vet before its too late! You would rather risk her life than to get out in the cold? Niiicceee.... poor guinea pig!

i'd say the vet is really the only correct option. if the weather is really too bad (like really really bad!!!!) then you could just call your vet and ask what to do until the weather gets better.

best of luck with your guinea piggie!!

Bright red ear? Is this her only problem? Is it warm or very warm? Check for wounds.

phone your vet and see what they say to do until you can get there. it sounds to me like she has ear mites.
