I think first we need a female president then the country might accept a Black president. I think it will happen sooner then later.

It's entirely possible (albeit long from a certainty) that a black man, Barrack Obama, will be sworn in as President on January 21, 2009. I don't think Obama's race will be any more of an issue than Hillary Clinton's gender or Mitt Romney's Mormon religion. In fact, the ethnic question probably helps Obama more than it hurts him because it's the main source of the buzz surrounding his candidacy (which is also based on his charisma and intelligence).
I suspect broader demographic trends in the US favor the odds that a black could be elected president--albeit in a counterintuitive way. Blacks are now outnumbered by Hispanics in the nation, even if they still outnumber Hispanics on voting rolls for now. This decline in their relative importance in the population will make blacks less threatening to whites and others, and hence tend to lessen white resistance to voting for African-American candidates. Outside of majority-black congressional districts and cities, black candidates have done best in areas where they are no more than 20 pct or so of the population--Illinois (Obama & Braun as Senators), Massachussetts (recently elected Gov. Patrick), & Virginia (Doug Wilder as Governor in the early 90s)

OK...firstly the president of America is NOT the leader of the western world. He/She is the moron who thinks they are.
Secondly, there will never be a 'black' President of America...there may well be an 'Uncle Tom' who takes on the role
, but no 'black' person in their right mind would ever betray their race enough to become President of the US. It would be like a Jew becoming Chancellor of Germany.

The only problem with Obama, if that is who you are referring to, it that some don’t think of him as being Black. His father is from Africa and his mom is from Kansas. Because neither he nor his family (relatives) has ever felt the oppression of slavery in America some feel he isn’t black enough. I know this sounds weird, right? Check out an interview with Debra Dickerson that aired on The Colbert Report. It was funny….it premiered on Comedy Central on 02/08/07.

Hopefully it will never happen. That's the LAST thing we need. There is too much on the agenda of any black candidate that the rest of the country would be neglected. It's not going to happen soon. Obama won't win, don't get your hopes up. Anyway, He supposedly isn't even black cause he "hasn't faced the hardships of the black community".

these devisive questions are the reasons there are racial tensions in this country. The majority of americans have blacks, hispanics, asians, whites all living together without problems. Stop stating it as if its really an issue. The best possible candidate will get elected only a very rotten minority of americans are going to vote based on race or sex.

When racist white Americans die out.In the future white Americans
who are not racist, will appoint African Americans the opportunity
to run for office. But as of right now,we still have racist as* white Americans who still has that idiology, and idiom, believning that the race is superior than blacks, and that black people are "inferior" to whites, and that there isn't a black man in America that has what is
takes to be president of the United States of America.I hoped this answered your question, and it was an interesting question by the way.

It could be in 2008, but I don't know. It may take a bit longer but in the end it could be Senator Obama. He is young enough to wait for the election in 8 to 12 years. If he does receive the Democratic nomination, it could well be in 2008!

No, and that i do no longer evaluate Obama black the two. he's a mulatto, to be technical, 0.5 white and 0.5 black, and African black, at that, no longer African-American black. yet he replaced into raised via a white woman. the only element he has in uncomplicated with maximum American blacks is that his dad wasn't around.
