If the teen parents of a child give custody to family members, at what age are the teen parents able to grant themselves custody back to their child?

so the teen parents don't get custody when they've turned legal? or just until the adoptive parents want to give the child back to them?

IF YOU are the teen parent in this... PLEASE. Make sure you have independent legal advice before you sign anything.
My daughter and son in law gave up, and signed their children to his parents.. after his parents had abducted the children. I have spent nearly 3 yrs researching this issue, and it is unlikely they will get the kids back.
It might be the best thing for the child, but you need to be totally sure you understand what you are doing.

You can't just grant custody back to yourself. If a teen parent, or any age parent for that matter loses or gives custody to anyone else they must go through legal proceedings to get that custody back. Sometimes those proceedings are friendly and short if the custodial party is willing to give the children to the parent. Other times those proceedings are long and drawn out when there is a fight over the custody of the child.

I think it depends on the circumstances. They may not be able to grant themselves custody of the child, but may be able to get custody through the courts. If the custody arrangement is temporary in nature, as soon as the time period of the agreement expires, the teen is eligible to retain custody.

that depends on whether the parents who took in thier children think they are ready or not. If not they can petition the court to let them keep the kid but if they are ready then they can just give the child back to the parent.
