I believe it may have had something to do with his cosmological constant....and maybe what might have been a beginning of a hint of what we now know as dark matter.

what we know now as elementary particles. A photon is an elementary particle. Dark matter consists of elemantary particles. All of the above are correct.

I believe he means what is called dark matter which is supposed to be composed of some type of yet unknown material
