Not very far, try Google Earth.

If you went to other space, you wouldn't be able to see the whole planet at one place, if you could, the Earth would be flat, instead of being a sphere.

Since the planet is round, you can never see the whole planet. The backside will always be hidden. If you want to see all of the frontside, thought, then no matter how far out you are, there will always be a small amount of the front side that you cannot see because of the curvature of the earth.

in order 2 do that U MUST B in "Oliptical Orbit" (142 miles UP. U must orbit the earth 2 C it ALL. From space U CAN C the shape of FLA. along w/ everything else. The stars even appear bigger from orbit. However, there IS a constant freefall, which is Y the ISS MUST B constantly moving. Sonita Williams recently lost her cameral & it went floating away from her & fell toward earth. When space-walking it's VITAL U NEVER lose yer grip but IF U DO U use the attached motor on the space-suit's back 2 return 2 safety.

Everyone above is right. But to answer you, maybe 20,000 miles or so. Try looking at a globe from closer and closer distances until you think you can't see it all anymore. I would guess that a foot or two will be the distance you pick. That would be about like 20,000 miles for the real Earth.

Think about it...You cannot see the whole planet from any fixed point.

You can only see half of it. To see the other half you have to
go plumb around to the other side and take a look.

You can never see the whole planet at once because there will always be the "back side"

pictures of the "whole" earth have been taken from the apollo program from the moon. used to have one hanging on the wall
