Okay, this is just my opinion... I am 100% in favor of people being able to marry whoever they want as long as they are consenting adults. I don't judge you. And I certainly want people to have the right to give their life partner legal rights if they are incapacitated or die, that's only fair...

And I don't judge people based on it... frankly, I don't care what you do in your life, or at all, really.

However, homosexuality seems illogical. I feel like we fall in love and have sex in order to continue the species and since two people of the same gender can't do that, then it's illogical...

I'm not at all uncomfortable with the idea, though. As long as people are happy I'm happy for them... I dunno...

so... yeah... that's my opinion... am I goofy??

You are entitled to your opinions. One could view homosexuality as something that does not help the human species because a gay couple cannot reproduce.

However, one could also view homosexuality as nature's way of controlling population. Imagine what a world would be like if everyone coupled and bred.

Which seems more logical to you?

Yeah you are goofy, I don't think you're terrible just ignorant and uniformed, because for most people love is totally illogical. It requires you to look past the surface and into the soul of another person, it requires no conditions, so why would gender be excluded on that.

I don't believe it's up to you to decide that because two people can't have a baby together then they shouldn't be together. First of all missy, I'm straight but I don't want to have kids biologically. So just because I have the parts doesn't mean God created me to be a baby maker, I have the choice to. Secondly your theory is flawed, because there are plenty of straight couples now and throughout the history of this planet that cannot conceive a kid no matter how much they want. It just ain't gonna happen for them.

If that person was born barren, then God created them that way, so is it then illogical for them to be in a relationship. Or what if the two gay people that are together both happen to be born barren, so is it ok for them to be in a relationship since they can't have kids regardless?

I mean honestly, what you're saying is very old fashioned, very 1952, please mature already. I think that what you're saying is that everyone was born to repopulate. If that was the case, then our planet would not be able to sustain itself, there's already 3 billion people alive today, if all of us repopulated several times that'd be like 10 billion people on that planet in 25 yrs. So just stop, not everyone needs to have kids.

I think that if two people love each other regardless of their gender, or are just attracted to each other sexually and want to express that, it is there business it's just sex and no one's asking you to join. To each it's own, baby, no one's forcing their rules on you even though they might find something you do illogical. I think until you have walked in a gay person's shoes and you know how it feels to be attracted to someone of the same sex, you really have no facts on which to base your opinion so you should just leave the subject alone.

I think your exceptional for a person whose still looking for a reason for why she should support us and for that I thank you.

For one thing, homosexuality is not unnatural, it happens in every animal species but one. That means almost 1,500 to 2,000 species of animals have been recorded doing homosexual acts. Only around 5 of those species actually have animals that commit to homosexuality FOR LIFE. That means that ALL THE OTHERS do it for reasons from "alpha male wolves dominating other lower males to just feeling good." So, 99% of animals don't mate with other males exclusively for life, like humans do, but 1% do! That means that humans are not the only species that mate for life with male/male and female/female couplings.

There are many other species that do not fit into homosexual or even STRAIGHT SOCIETY. Such as some animals that give birth to their young by parthogenesis (virgin birth) or like sea horses where the male carries the child. So, there will always be those animals that fall outside the "zones."

So, nature is WOW, so extremely varied that its not even funny. Also, Italian scientist have now discovered a process whereby they can "mix" the sp*rm of two gay men to create and fertilize an egg to impregnate a woman. This child will be the biological child of both men. No child has yet been born from this as it is still in the experimental stage.

your not goofy, just asking a question and a good one at that. I would agree with you that homosexuality is illogical if in fact people did chose to participate in it but that isn't the case. In the vast majority of the cases that i've heard, homosexuals are born with an attraction to the same sex. they were born that way and if thats the way they were born, then that is their nature. so just as it can't be illogical for a child to be born albino after all, we are suppose to have some pigmentation using the same logic it can't be illogical for homosexuals to be...well homosexual!

I dont think your goofy just using your right to question things in life. Everyone does question most things at one time or another in our lifes and you have also shown that although you have this idea you respect the fact that everyone leads there own life in their own way. I understand your question of this being illogical its just drummed that the straight way is the social norm that may change. I'm straight but dont am like u belive everyone can do and be whatever they want thats why we were put on this earth. Do not worry about it!

First off, you ARE judging. You said you agree 100% - that is a judgment. I really appreciate the fact you're big enough to allow me to live my life my own way. Very big of you.

Secondly, have you noticed some underpopulation problem the rest of us have missed? There are so many babies in the world, some people throw them away; abandoning an innocent, helpless baby to die horribly. (Bet is wasn't a lesbian that did THAT!)

Life is illogical. Everyone is goofy.

NO not at all, i commend you first and formost for your open mind, i am not gay, been happily married almost 20 years

my nephew is gay and when he "came out" as they say, he gently explained to my sister (his mom) that he is more comfortable and feels extreamly happy around the choice he made, this was extreamly hard for him as he was raised in a small community and it was not herd of really, he was luckier then most, aside from being asked to leave his beloved church group, and his father disowned him as they say......the whole community accepted him and understood, there was always something about him growing up , that seemed different even as a young child, so it really came as no surprise.....today 5 years later he is getting ready to marry his partner and we are all happy for him, and wish him well
the point is if we were put on this earth to "continue the species" i am sad to say i can not have children and there are millions of other women who can not have children either, it does not make us any less valuable to society becasue we cant, so i just thought if you could see it from that point of view also... but again i want to comend your open mind for understanding that people happiness is important regarless of who make them happy

sex and love are two different things.. other species have sex simply to reproduce.. humans have sex either for fun or out of love (or both).. that's why i don't think same-sex relationships are illogical.. true love knows no boundaries.. and for the casual people out there, sex can be fun and physically pleasurable with anyone male or female..

but yes you are right. if the only reason you want to have sex is to make babies, then a same sex partner won't satisfy your need.

take care and good luck.. and no i don't think you are goofy. we all have different wants and needs in life..

NOT at all..everyone has there own opinion... so yeah, ummm..you are not goofy at all. And you dont put on the wrong impression either! I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion..and if they feel like they cant get love from the opposite sex, well then that's fine with me! But sometimes i wonder. I was watching MTV and it was talking about Gays. TEEN GAYS to be exact..and sometimes i dont think that they want to be gay. i mean, what guy wakes up in the morning saying, "hey, i wanna be gay".??? I dont think any would! They'd want to fit in, right? so i dont think people necessarily choose to be gay...it just sort of happens i gues.. I dont think they can help it if they like someone from the same sex as they are. But I really wouldnt know.

No, you're not goofy, and your "logic" seems logical.
In truth, the reason for intercourse is to reproduce. But sex is also a way of expression; Be it love or lust, this is what sex is.

When a man or woman is attracted to another, their body sends them messages. They feel a heat that rises from deep within. When I find myself attracted to a man, I can feel parts of my body flutter as I think of the two of us being close. Yes, religiously it is wrong. But it is also human nature. So you have to understand that this human nature also consumes people who's sexual orientation is different than your own.
