There was a bit of a mess and it got knocked off the table. It's one of the flat white ones, it tipped over backwards and landed on the floor, knocking out the power cord. Now when I try to turn it on, the front light blinks and it gives three loud beeps, and the fan runs loudly. Did I completely ruin it?

yes, sounds to me like you ripped the hardrive connectors from the rest of the connectors.

anything can be fixed, but yeah, it sounds like you need to take it back to the store. i doubt many computers would survive that kind of fall.

you can try resetting the PRAM... among other things. remove the battery and disconnect the power (to make sure it's completely off) - then replace the battery, hold down APPLE + OPTION + P + R and turn on the power until the computer chimes twice, then let go and see what happens. honestly though --- you should take it to the apple store or an authorized service technician.

You are about to find out the difference between a MAC and a PC!
You will have to take it to an authorised MAC dealer to get it checked out, and I guarantee it will cost you double what a PC would cost to repair!
There are NO self repairable parts in a Mac, sorry.

It might be the RAM chip. If you think you can do it yourself, disconnect and reseat the RAM, instructions on how to are in your users manual. If that doesn't work then you should call Apple.
