Simple acts of kindness during your day costs 0. Hug someone that needs a hug of encouragement. Compliment someone on their looks or ability. These can always impact someone. If you can make someone smile, perhaps they will pass it on. There are people as you know in 3rd world nations that your small donation could feed them for weeks. You can do this alone or contribute to a charity. Children are the future we leave behind.

There are a million things that I can think of right off the top of my head...

-Give blood
-Voulenteer
-Find a family in need and buy them a few christmas presents around that time
-put change in the ronald mcdonald charity container at mcdonalds
-donate to a local food bank
-pay attention when you go to your local gas station and give money to those people who just lost their home to a fire, who don't have health insurance and need money to pay medical costs and trans. costs.. etc.

Etc. Etc. Etc....

Just pick your brain for something that will make you feel good, and do it. My friend's family's house just burned down a couple of days ago... I just bought them a few household items and some toiletries... If I could give them anything I would. I am in my own less fortunate situation though....

This cost no money. Educate yourself on political candidates, whether on the local, state and federal level, who support programs and public policy that addresses the needs of the less fortunate. Sorry to tell you but the less fortunate are usually so because of a significant lack of resources.

volunteer your time...like habitat for humanity, plus you can donate your old clothes, sometimes fire stations take them for people whose homes burned down. Most things non-profit operate with volunteers so look it up in your local community or ask a church if you go to one.
