I am currently working in a public house that doesn't serve food. It is not a restaurant or hotel, just a pub. 4 out of the 8 people behind the bar are aged 16 and 17. i won't serve them alcohol when they come to the bar on a night out and this makes both them and the landlady quite irrate. the landlady said it's fine that i don't serve them because she will. also they are all paid cash in hand. are they allowed to work there? also are they allowed to drink there? p.s. i'm in yorkshire england.

To work behind in a bar in UK you have to be 18! The landlady could lose her licence if the right people found out about it. Also you cannot serve anyone under 18 if YOU do YOU will be fined. You cannot pour alcoholic drinks until you are 18, if you work in a restaurant you can serve them to the table but thats it!!

No a sixteen year old cannot serve alcohol in any state in the union. And. if you are working behind a bar that serves alcohol, your employer can be in deep s**t. In a lot of states, you can't even enter a bar at 16 years old.

I do not know about England, but you may get in trouble if you serve alcohol.. the Landlord will be in a lot of trouble to, if this was the US. I think most states here , at 18 you can sell it, but not buy it. Legal drinking age in US is 21.

properly, i'm undecided on the subject of the regulation for in a pub, yet I artwork in a food market, and we've sixteen and 17 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds serving alcohol. all of them have the specific permission from the save supervisor, and have signed the proper archives to accomplish that. in the event that they serve somebody under age, they are going to be caught on for an £80 fastened penalty, and the save supervisor might properly be fined as much as £20,000. whilst somebody comes as much as purchase alcohol, the transaction needs to be accepted with the help of a member of group over 18.

NO NO NO! this is 110% illegal. i worked for a company the spirit group" they did the same but it is illegal and no very good business. If the police find out they could take there licence away and close the place down. IF i were you i would search for a new job with a better more professional employer.

Here in the USA, you must be 21 to sell alcohol anywhere, even Walmart. I think it is 16 or 18 in Europe, at least it is in Spain.

nope...
16 is still minors....though i dont care if your country or other country allowed it..still for me minors are being cared and should be guided....and this kind of enviroment is not going to help them to grow in nice and good way of life i guess...
