I just recently joined the Battleon/AdventureQuest RPG. I haven't done much so far, but it seems OK. What do you think of it? Do you have any tips for new players?

The amount of time playing has to do with how busy the server is. The free server is often very busy. When you can, become a Guardian. It's a one-time only fee, and you have access to more weapons, armor, spells, etc.

Get one of each element in armor, weapons, shields, spells, and pets.

Make use of the monster sheet --the little page that appears when you mouse over the monster's image on the circle at the bottom of the screen. It can tell you what attacks can harm it, and what attacks could even HELP the monster.

Example: A water monster will more than likely heal from a water attack, but often takes 150% or even 200% or more damage from energy attacks.

Armor protects against melee attacks, while sheilds protect against ranged attacks. This is especially important when the monster uses one kind of element attack when it attacks you head-on, but uses a different element to attack from a distance.

Keep your Health Points and Mana Points up as much as possible. (You get one each of Health Potion and Mana Potion when you're on the free server, but 3 of each when you become a Guardian. Also, you might meet people that will give you temporary addtional potions. If unused, these will disappear after you leave the site.)

Weaken the monster with spells, first, then finish it off with your weapon.

As soon as possible, buy pets. They can be a great help in battle, and some can even heal you. (The Vampragons can heal 5 in both Health and Mana with a special attack. And there is one of each element. I have had, at one time, one of each of the Vampragons.)

For Guardians: The Firewerewolf and Icewerewolf are great because they will attack each and EVERY time.

My current favorite (available only to Guardians, and only at 70th level) is the Big Clone. It's a large clone of my character, clad in black and gray armor. What's fantastic about it, is that whatever weapon and sheild that you arm yourself with, the clone will have larger versions of that weapon and sheild. And s/he will attack with TWICE the damage!

Join the forum! There is plenty of help there.

Most of all, just have fun.

Try to play it as much as you want and get all the stuff that you want because after a certain amount of time and what you level is they will stop letting to get back on until like a month later and then that time period to play is even shorter.
