Why do women want to look like these anorexic models who eat a slice of lettuce each day? I don't understand it, I don't think that they look great, just skinny.

i blame the media. lol. they project these unobtainable images of these 'size-zero' models in their magazines along with these positive connotations such as 'if you look this thin, you can be just as successful/rich/ famous!' which is just ludicrous! it's got to the point now where the media plays a very influential part in dictating to society what is the 'norm',per se which is sending out all the wrong messages to young women worldwide! ladies, it doesn't matter wot size you are....as long as you happy in ur own skin...who cares if your a size 8 or a size 18? :)

No, I certainly do not want to look like a skinny model who looks like she has come out a concentration camp..All ribs and bones. No man wants bones, He wants a woman to love. That's my theory. Many models look terrible, they never smile, look almost angry and with all their makeup they look so grotesque. They look like the most unhappiest of women and all the while what is so funny here is, they are modeling what are supposed to be these fantastic clothes. I don't wear expensive clothes but I smile whatever I am wearing. I have chosen to do justice to my body, by taking care of it and eating to stay alive.. Food is good for you, poor women someone should feed and tell them that.
I have a theory, that these poor starving models are forced into their awful conditions by their employees, who ever they are. If you are in business you want to keep costs low right, so if you are designing fashionable clothes with expensive materials, with expensive gems and jewels on them, You want to keep the cost low. If you are going to design for a Size 12 or 14 the cost would be enormously more than if you are clothing a Size 2 girl. It is all about money..So, if you going to design for a tiny girl the cost is way less. The richer the designer the smaller the girls on his runway. It has nothing to do with the girls being more fashionable or more beautiful thin.. it is about more money for the designer, and company.. That is how I see it.
I am content to live my life in a sane, mature way.

No I do not. The stories/pictures of some of these models encapsulates the critical state we’re in when it comes to body issues and self-image. That said, the inevitable
consequences of a social system in which those who are thin and big breasted benefit most.Society has created an environment so image obsessed, that there is approval for being thin and disapproval for being fat, creating a generation of women so self conscious about their body image, that it is affecting their health.

i personally don't want to look super thin as im just the right shape and size and feel much healthier than many models do (i think). people want to look super thin beacause i suppose it makes them feel super special and think that they are just as popular and as famous and rich as many super models. as for the one lettuce leaf if i was the skinny one id be eating a whole lettuce every meal!!! like they should be doing. and remember super skinny people a balanced diet is good! so put on some weight!!!

my wife is currently a size 14 as she is nealry 40weeks pregnant but already she is dying to get back to her pre-pregnancy shape of a size 10. I will admit that for a while my wife had an un-healthy obbession with her weight when she was a bit younger and dieted to a size 6 but she has now realised the damage it put on her body. To many woman want to be all skin and bones and I day bring on the womanly curves, slim but with boobs, a bum and a little tummy is perfect.

i eat pizza, chips, chocolate chip cookies, pies, full fat everything and not in small portions either, i eat on average 3 times a day each time the food is mounted up.
I'm a size 6/8 and am fcking gorgeous so :p.

I'm really getting annoyed at this subject now, i bet i eat twice as much as you do, if you don't think they look that great so what... look somewhere else... surely me trying to put on weight would be exactly the same as what you are criticising.

p.s. it's a leaf of lettuce not a slice of lettuce. dumbass

Yes, i do because they look so good in all these different fashions. Nothing is too small on them and they just look so great. I think they look so wonderful and perfect. Some of them do not look anorexic. Just very thin and it is sometimes natural. You should take that into consideration.

no. Not all of them are wafer thin anyways. I hear modeling agencies ar trying to promote healthier looking bodies because 2 models killed themselves trying to be superskinny and they don't want to be held responsible.

Yes.
I wanna look like a vanilla sugar wafer.
Heroine-chic....
J/K...
I think you mean WAIF- thin models. Well, it depends on ur taste. I don't think most guys like it, but some probably do. There's a fine line between waif-thin, heroine chic Kate Moss and ANOREXIC sickly looking skinny. Some might say she is.
IDK...
It's all a personal preference, I guess...
