It will take a couple of weeks to get over the itching. However, if you continue to shave every time you shower, you will get your skin tough enough that you won't have any itching or red bumps.
I shave my bikini line year round and have no problems with it anymore. It just makes me feel cleaner to not have so much hair "down there".

It takes 2 or 3 days for the itching to stop. You do have itching if you don't shave often because your skin never becomes tolerant to shaving. You can use hydrocortisone cream to stop the itching.

It only itches for a couple of days, and grows back pretty quick also. To help with the itching I put on a thin layer of Aquaphor, if you don't have any Vaseline will work.
