You can download several programs right off Google Search that restrict your childs to "Safe" child websites. These programs block the websites that children shouldnt be viewing. Just type in on Google. "free programs to protect children on web."

I am not going to recommend one over the other, choose one in which you can change as the youngster grows in age, For example you can restrict for a 7 year old, and restrict for a 10 yesr old and a 15 year old on the one im familar with all done with a "password" for each child to use on their website. The also have a "log" of the time a child spends on the computer and just what sites he/she has visited which is a nice thing, showing the time in minutes and hours and total time.

The best way to keep him safe is to educate him right away. Use computer time to initiate conversations about internet safety. All the blockers in the world can not protect him from himself if he is not cautious and informed. I would always suggest that the computer be in a "public space" in the household so that you can glance as you walk by. Make sure he knows that if he feels uncomfortable in a chat room, ect to call you right away so you can see what's going on-same with downloads, ect.

You can get NetNanny or other progs like that..
The best way is to monitor what your son is doing on the computer. Nortons Internet Security/Antivirus has an option of using Parental Control and it is useful for kids also.
There is another prog out that tracks all the sites he goes to also.
Put the computer in the living room or wherever you are in the evenings/daytime, never leave your kid alone to surf....
Chat rooms is a no no for kids too... Also myspace is bad for youngsters.
I admire your concern for your child and wanting to keep him safe.
I have seen a lot of parents just let their child take reign of the computer, surfing wherever they want, thats how they get in to trouble..
Another thing to try is to limit him to maybe an hour on the pc...
Best wishes for you and your child....

Well key loggers wont keep him safe, by the time he has had some conversation with a perv and you find out they might be on the way to meet each other. Just use parental-controlls. They work really well, he might resent it, I know I would but you can tell him he had to earn your trust, and eventually he will learn internet safety.

A keylogger is only going to record what he types. Which, lets face it , is a disgusting invasion of privacy.

Try talking to him, he is a lot wiser than you think he is.
