Look I got glasses in 6th grade. I am in 8th grade right now. I've had many relationships before 6th grade. Now tables have turned. Guys don't loook at me the same way anymore. I often wonder why. I now realized that it is because of my glasses. They are cute frames. I have always wanted contacts, but my parents are waiting for me to be more hygenic (A.K.A. stop biting my nails) because that is where most of germs are. However, I've tried to stop for years, and I don't bite them because I'm nervous. All I want, is to get contacts. Even if I have to get them for my 15 birthday. I've tried that too.

guys at that age are really shallow....they just care about themselves.....usually before 6th grade girls and boys can be good friends....but after that they get kinda weird...it just might be growing up....however... contacts are a big responsibility.... personally i like contacts better however i love the look of glasses on other people.... i bite my nails too....but you just have to be ready to take care of the contacts....by the time you reach high school it will be fine... just keep your hed high and stay confident.....hope this helped!

Well, if you think you're pretty and (wait! You've had relationships before 6th grade...? Isn't that sort of fast?) ... well, then don't let anything get you down! I think I have cute frames, and the most popular girl in my class tried contacts and she wears dorky (as in round wired) glasses (the other popular girls in the class don't have glasses...or they got rid of them) but honestly it comes down to character and personality and other beauty, too.
If you seriously think it's the glasses,
1) either the guys are stupid
2) get contacts! I have problems stopping to bite my nails as well, but I put on some nail polish so it tastes pretty horrible and ruins the look. Voila, for the past 4 weeks or so, I've been biting-free. Of course, when I'm anxious or nervous, or the nail polish is peeling I start trimming them.
Always remember yourself of your cause though.
Good luck, and remember, you don't need the guy always!

I actually have no idea whatsoever as to why they feel this way. I mean, you're glasses are really nice looking (I know her personally). It makes no sense as to why guys would look at you differently. Besides, as long as your hands are clean when you are playing with your contacts, what does it matter if you bite your nails otherwise?? I mean, yeah, it's a bad habit, but still. If you have the chance, I say you work on breaking the really bad habit.

Show your parents these answers. Maybe seeing how much you've thought this out will show some responsibility.

Good luck!!

I think glasses look great! I have contacts at the moment, but that's because they're more comfortable for me, not because I want to look good.

And I had contact lenses before I gave up biting my nails and it wasn't a problem! Unless you have a scratch in your eye or something where germs could get in (and if you did you probably wouldn't want to wear contact lenses until it healed anyway!), it really isn't a problem as long as you wash your hands before and after you put them in and take them out!

But don't worry about it, really. Guys who are that shallow don't deserve to go out with a gorgeous girl like you!

You can't say there is just ONE thing that made all the difference. Besides, glasses aren't bad at all. Believe it or not, even if you don't get contacts, you'll survive. I know, you want so badly to not have to wear glasses right now, but you'll live. And don't worry, you'll find a guy one day.

Besides, if getting rid of your glasses really makes the difference to a guy, why would you want to date such a shallow, immature guy?

So you want to get contact lenses so that guys will like you? Ok. Well I wear glasses, and I have a boyfriend. And guys are still interested in me. A lot of them mention my glasses to start conversation, something like, "I love your glasses" etc. If a boy ignores you/doesn't like you because of your glasses, he's an idiot.
Maybe it's something else.

I have glasses too. My advise to you would be to have your personality outshine your glasses. If the boys only like you for your outward appearence they are shallow fools. if u let the boys see you true personality and stop obsessing about your glasses boys will notice you.just because somthing isnt happening when u want it to doesnt mean it wont happen. A boy will ask u out but probably when u least expect it.

Hon, I don't know you, but here's what I think----it's more likely to be the NAIL biting that's the turn-off than it is the glasses!
It is a really disgusting habit, and your hands look really gross when you do it.
When you can stop doing THAT, you won't even NEED the contact lenses!

Maybe its not your glasses..seriously! Because..realtionships before ninth grade usually dont count! so sometimes at the age your at its just the boys!:) & glasses are usually super cute! But, if your self conscious..try dressing cuter or doing somthing fun w/ your hair!
