Aaron is correct!

Here is the method:
c=# of chickens, p = # of pigs, s = # of sheep

0.1c+2p+5s=100--- (1)
c+p+s=100---- (2)

put c = 100-p-s in (1)

1.9p+4.9s=90

Now since we want exactly 100 animals and exactly 100$ must be spent, try integer values of p and s. This shouldnt be too hard since for example s cannot be greater than around 17 and p cant be greater than 46. so its a pain to try different numbers, but you will get an answer for sure.. (if you know programming, you can write a simple code to calculate your answer)

p = 19
s = 11
c = 70

You know that c + p + s = 100
You also know that 0.10c + 2p + 5s= 100
Multiply that by 10 to get rid of the decimal

c + 20p + 50s = 1000. Now multiply all in first equation by -1:
-c + -1p + -1s = -100

So 19p + 49s = 900

In order for this to come out even c must be a multiple of 10, so p + s must also be a multiple of 10

You need to see which will come out even:

p + s = 20 would mean
-19p + -19s = -380
19p + 49s = 900

That's 30s = 520 , not divisib;e by 30

p + s = 30 would mean
-19p + -19s = -570
19p + 49s = 900

30s = 330 and s = 11, meaning p = 19 and c = 70

11X5 = 55
19X2 = 38
70X.10 = 7 adding up to 100

so there we go!

OK I have it.
70 chickens=$7.00
19 pigs=$38.00
11 Sheep =$55.00
Total 100 animals $100

Cheers!

19 Sheep at $5 each = $95.00
2 Pigs at $2 each = $ 4.00
10 Chuickens at $0.10 each = $1.00
