Welcome to the real world!

You already know what a bookmark/link/Favorite is: it takes you to a predetermined web site. A link usually opens a new window. A bookmark or favorite opens a web page in the existing window - that is, say your open window was your email in-box. If you scrolled through bookmarks and picked a new url, your in-box would be replaced by the new website.

Now, suppose you didn't want to close or lose your email window. You could keep it up, or minimize it...go to your File menu...and choose New Window. As soon as it opens, you can scroll through your bookmarks to choose what you want this new window to become.

But the really cool thing about Mozilla is that you can toggle instantly from website to site. Go to your File menu again and choose New Tab. Immediately scroll down your bookmarks and pick whatever site you would like to have instant access to. Maybe it's dictionary.com. Done? OK, now notice that this "tab" appears like a file folder tab above your in-box. You can click back and forth instantly from this tab to your e-mail tab, or to any other tab that you create. It's really handy for sites that you access often in the course of a day.

Some people turn off their computers every night (why?) so have to set up the tabs anew each morning. But if you leave the comp on, they will stay there until you shut down. Great convenience!
