First off, you should first be totally sure you are lesbian. It might be a phase and that would suck trying to convince your dad so once you've told him before. Once you know, strike up a conversation about gays, gay marriage, anything. Find out his view on gays/lesbians. If he's one of those burn-a-cross-in-their-yard type people, then don't even bother telling him. But if you really trust him, in a joking-ish type voice ask him "Would you be mad if I was gay or something?" He might be mad and start accusing you of being gay and screaming and all. Just deny it all. If he wouldn't accept you, then he doesn't have to know. But if he really doesn't mind gays, tell him you've been "questioning your orientation" recently, and think you may be gay or "bi." If you doesn't really care, wait a while and tell him you're sure that you are lesbian.

You've got a couple options. It all depends on how open and honest you want to be with your folks. If you want to be really close, then sit them down and do the whole coming out thing. Build up your confidence first and be prepared to be kicked out. If you kinda want some relationship with them, avoid talking about your love life when you can and if you're cornered say something that outs yourself. If you don't care if they know anything about you and want to get by without a fight, then lie and avoid telling them the truth until you're not dependent upon them.

Tell him, "Dad, you never have to worry about me getting knocked up before I'm married...because I only want to have sex with girls."
That should do it.
Seriously? There is no easy way. I told my Mum by starting off telling her about the episode of Ellen where Ellen comes out. She responded with, "Are you trying to tell me you are gay?" To which I replied, "What, you never noticed?" To which she replied, "OMG" I still don't know what she thinks about it, but fact of the matter is, I now no longer have to worry about her finding out.

Be honest! If you are sure that you are, let him know that it doesn't change the fact that you are his daughter and that you love him. The fact that he's your dad and that you told him, is all that should matter...!
Trust me I know..It's what I did!!!
