Sorry but i think that any race that claims power over another is very racist. I don't know why we allow this in 2007. Also there is no need for a black panther party in the usa cause having a political party only standing up for one race is racist. I am part native and no one cares about the natives on welfare living on poor reserves. We were here first and we don't get a political party or a history month. I would just like to remind all people that there is also whites on welfare and living in poverty so you all must see the big picture and quit only caring about your own people when we should be proud that white people created the best free countries on earth.

I'm white.
Black's have gone through a lot. And while they legally have every right that we do, there is still much discrimination today. They NEED a party to stand up for them.
We don't because we aren't the ones who face inequality!

Yes you are right black power is not really appropriate anymore but at a time it was, i dont know about flattering white people by saying they created the best gree countries on earth... some of that will go to the racists ones heads but if native americans really wanted a party for themselves they would have to work for it just like every other group, no one is going to give you anything. But you are right about a lot of this stuff is no longer relevant in this day and age. Exactly what Rick P said...

Um... I don't think you know your history very well.
I am a Native woman. There is a Native history month, it is November. There is such thing as Red Power. And have you ever heard of AIM (the American Indian Movement)?
I do agree that Natives are the invincible race.
White people did not create free countries. Our people, Native people, are NOT free in this country. You cannot say they created free counties when they committed Genocide, Cultural Genocide, Land Theft, Rape, Torture, Kidnapping and more all to FORCE Natives into their belief system.
It would probably be best if you educate yourself on Native history before speaking about it.

I don't think loving ones race amounts to hate at all. ONLY supremacist language exerts any dominance over another. I think black power AND white power is perfectly natural.
It has nothing to do with "caring about your own people." Pride and caring are two separate things. You can easily have pride in your race while caring for others.
Today's politically-correct "thought police" will be laughed at by our children. Just remember political-correctness is always a fad, and the truth is the truth no matter who is offended.

Because there was a time in history (I'm sure you weren't around, otherwise you'd know) when blacks were kept from doing things that they as humans should have had the rights to do. People looked upon blacks as dirt and considered them 3/5 of a person.
As a retaliation and to help bring themselves back up, black people began to march and say "The hell with you bastards, we're proud of who we are. We shouldn't feel like we should be ashamed."
Black Power is the retaliation of racism, though today it is perceived as being racism. Ironic.
I don't think anyone should say it anymore, myself. I just thought you needed to know why it was allowed.
And by the way, Native American Heritage month is in November. Do your research.

Blacks have suffered all kinds of discriminations. Its just normal that a party is there to bring things to level term. And its working. if that is what black people want to say to make themselves happy then what is the issue with it? all races should be allowed to display pride towards their race. the difference though is when black people say black power they do not round up everyone who is not black and murder them in mass numbers. black people did not create nuclear bombs and start killing people based on color and or religion. i believe that any one who has to try to say that their race is better then all the others are just insecure. no race is better then any other race. WE WERE ALL MADE BY GOD! but hey if that is what people need to do to make themselves feel better in this already corrupt world i say hey let who ever say what ever.
