if u shaved a few weeks ago its right about now u should be getting the bumps u r right ,its from the blade that u used "not knowing". No pain no beauty remember that, That is what the girls say in the salon. U most prep first get a nice creamy shaving cream and double blade and take your time. Do not rub or scratch. And shave going upward gently. The bumps is from the hair now coming Thur relax u r ok . For supper smooth legs lets start from inside with drinking lots of water and do not wash in hot hot water oil your legs while wet and pat dry lightly and repeat with oil. Pamper yourself at night oil legs with cream and don't forget to gently massage. Repeat this and u will be fine

Razor bumps, also called pseudofolliculitis barbae, are small, irritated bumps on the skin that develop after shaving when strands of hair curl back on themselves and grow into the skin. Razor bumps cause irritation and the development of pimples. They also may cause scarring.

To treat razor bumps, use a clean needle to release the embedded hair shaft. If possible, stop shaving. This usually stops razor bumps from developing, depending on the severity. However, when shaving is restarted razor bumps typically return.

To get your legs super smooth it is best to wet the hair you are about to shave and use a quality shaving cream or gel and shave with the hair's grain, not against it. The only real way to ensure smoothness is to use a chemical hair remover.

Well, I would have waxed, especially the first time. But since you didn't....To get rid of the bumps just use a body lotion until they go away. When you shave again, be sure to use a new razor and use shaving cream. I would recommend a shaving cream designed for sensitive skin. Never, never, never dry-shave. It sounds like that might be what you did? Good luck!

A good way to prevent it is to use a shaving cream for sensitive legs. There are products on the market to help treat ingrown hairs (as that's what those bumps are), the best I've used is a gel called "Bikini Zone" it's not just for your bikini zone! :) The best way to get your legs super smooth is just to use a good razor (non-disposable) and the right shaving cream!

Obvisouly use shaving cream
but it could be the razor.
be sure to get at least a double blade disposeable shaver
Use it for both legs and toss.

Single blades are the worst for legs as the bumbs (i think) come from the hairs just below the surface not being able to come thru the skin after being cut so use lotion to keep your skin soft.
Also dont totally give up on the creams
there are some for senstive skin that are great and since they dont cut the hair (they melt it) you will NEVER get the bumps
GOOD LUCK

A good way to prevent the bumps is to shave in the shower.. make sure the water is warm enough, but not too hot. This will cause the hair follicles to be softer, therefore shaving with less irritation and less bumps.

Try a moisturizing shave gel for sensitive skin, (Skintimate is a good one). I use a facial buff pad on my legs to help get rid of the bumps and if I have bad ones I buy 4 side nail buffing wedge and sand lightly. Don' t do it too hard or your skin will be raw. I use Neutrogena sesame lotion and I've been told I have the smoothest skin.

Curly or coarse hair can get razor bumps. To avoid, just like shaving your face, you must shave with the growth of the hair....that means down on your legs (knee to ankle) You should also use a super rich shaving gel.

Just my opinion, but men shouldn't shave their legs....

first soak in the bathtub in HOT water to soften your skin and open up your pores. soak for like 10 mins while you wash your hair or something. get one of those little puffy balls or a back scrubber and use it to scrub your legs to remove dead skin.

THEN use a sharp razor with gel that contains aloe. do this ALL in the bathtub where it's still steamy from the hot water and your legs are still moist.

after shaving, you can apply hydrocortisone (costs like $2 at any drug store) to get rid of the redness/irritation.

if you do this routine for a couple times (maybe a month), then after a while you shouldn't have to 'prep' so much for it. i think maybe your skin is just sensitive to it and needs to get used to it.

Try Coochy shave cream. www.cheaplubes.com

It works wonders. I have really sensitive skin and I can shave under my arms everyday with this stuff. Try it, and you'll be hooked! Use it with a Mach 3 and your set dude. Your legs will be really soft. This product is also recommended for men with very course hair as well.
