Is there an Emo backlash in the Rock Community?

personaly i dont like emo cause it well emo but how does the rock comm. feel

Some emo is okay, but I hope it doesn't take over the rock community. There seems to be an overload these days, when is good rock going to come back?

Yep, there's pretty much a backlash against emo among everyone who doesn't consider themselves emo. It's that way with everything that gets too trendy. The rock community and the emo community sort of overlap right now, but the people who are definitely un-emo, like punk rockers, always whine about how annoying emo kids are, so I consider that a backlash! People who feel their subculture is being ripped off and cheapened by the emo trend also tend to backlash against emo, such as goths...

I think that there is a backlash against emo in the rock world, especially among the metal freaks because the emos dress too much like them and the femeninity that some emos project offends them "that ain't rock"

The term was born in the 1980s to describe a genre of music stemming from the hardcore punk music scene in Washington, D.C. Early bands labeled emo (or sometimes emocore) in this scene included Rites of Spring, Embrace, and Fugazi.

So it has always been around, and it will probably stay here. So the best thing to do is if you don't like it, then don't listen to it.

Emo is a seperate entity unto itself. Long after Emo dies out, Rock will still be alive and kicking.

sure there's a backlash. to what extent is the question. it seems emo music's not the problem, it's the emo mentality and kids who try wayyy to hard to live it.

Emo music isn't really my thing, and the lifestyle is retarted. I'm not a big rocker either. I guess this question has nothing to do with me.
