writing, just keep a journal and you should improve very much. i hated writing then i kept a journal and i started to love it.
as for math, when i was little my parents would write out math for me, multiplucation, division, now my dad writes out giant things for me and i he corrects me if i am wrong. so ask your parents to write out problem for you, or the teacher, i am so much better at both of those due to my stratigies

math is one of those subjects that unfortunately you HAVE to do all of your homework to understand all of the concepts that you are studying. Doing all of your math homework is a start. Taking tutoring classes either from your teacher or someone that is good in math is another step. And asking questions on problems that you dont understant is a third step you can take. As for writing, asking your teacher for help before or after class is a good idea. Making drafts and letting someone else look at it and giving you their honest opinion is really helpful. Other people can read your work and find errors that you would probably not notice.

Go to the store and find a practice book on writing, and practice. Find out if there is a Tutor in school that can help you, with the math. Tell the teacher that you just don't get it, and maybe she will have a suggestion for you.

(math) Do as much problems as you can, think about the problem, try to solve it in different ways. Math is not hard if you give it time, patient, and lot of thinking.

Writing( reading helps a lot, also you have to write at least 1 page a day about anything you like.

good luck
