Dispite the fact that I disagree with you, let me try to answer your question objectively.

A coup d'etat is an overthrow of a whole government system, not just a leader. If a coup d'etat happened in the U.S., it would overthrow our beloved democracy and replace it with communism, socialism, facsism or some other oppressive system. Is that what you want?

Now, the U.S. does impose term limits. So, if you are unsatisfied with your leaders (in your question the President), you have an opportunity to vote him/her out of office. If that doesn't work (and it didn't) you would just have to wait another 4 years, and poof, he goes away. If he tried to use his executive powers to retain office, he would be jailed and tried for treason.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think the proper term you were looking for is 'recall', like we did in California to that bum Gray Davis. I'm not sure if the President can be recalled, but if he can, the recall drive would have to be mobilized nationwide; and despite what you see on T.V. and from celebrities, there is not a nationwide dissatisfaction with Bush and he is secure in his position.

Obviously, you are on a different mindset with Bush, but that is understandable. I myself am a Republican, but am not too happy with certain things. Do I want him recalled? No, because I believe on most issues, he gets it right.

But that's just me. The wonderful thing about this country and our system of government, is that you are free to compose your own thought and disagree with the President if you so chose.

So now I ask you, is a coup d'etat really what you want?

God Bless.

Just finishing a couple of college statistics classes I have to come to realize anyone can formulate questions for a poll that will always show negative results. And then manipulate those numbers to further make their point. The "liberal" media has been doing just that. Unfortunately too many people either believe everything they see on television or are not intelligent enough to think intelligently and critically for themselves.

We all should stop letting this media driven BS separate us and get together and take back our country. Both sides really want the same things really. We are just letting all this crap divide us.

Remember the old phrase "Divide and conquer" someone has an agenda and they are getting close to making it happen through dividing our country so deeply we will fall.

Wake up everyone.. time to save our country.

If the troops don't start getting rotated out of Iraq according to regulations it may come to that because as you said he only cares about his cabinets agenda which is and remains doing his favors to keep the big corporate donors happy like haliburton , enron , chevron and others . As long as they are kept busy with their military contracts the money is rolling in for him and the others .I do expect though he will wait till he's out of office to accept the gratuities he's now earning at the cost of our troops . I've been around a while and I remember the check the Japanese cut Ronald Reagan for 3.3 million for selling us out in trade deals , money he received right after his presidential term . What I find unbelievable is the 33% who still support him even though they don't have their hand in the cookie jar? What is the driving motive for those people , I can only guess it must be the idiotic scare tactics thrown at them daily by this administration . The Generals on the ground have the right to disobey unlawful orders and I hope at some point that right is exercised .

In America we don't do coups. That's too "third world". We do things in a more democratic, less violent manner.

His party is rapidly loosing control, and even many of it's own members have abandoned them. The republican party of today isn't the same republican party my grandparents supported. They didn't used to stand for Big Government at all, and they listened to the American people. In the last few years they've gone from conservative to Ultra conservative, and think they know best what's good for us.

The people in the middle between the liberals and the conservatives are slowing regaining control. There will be more candidates willing to compromise with each other.

That would be interesting condisering the fact that he does have a private army, and they are heavily armed, they are called Blackwater, I am wondering though how they go about getting armed, wouldn't it seem that some of the weaponary they have had to go through illegal channels, and isn't it illegal for a citizen to have a fully automatic weapon, gernade, LAW and the like, and that is what Blackwater is private citizens they are not real military personal, they may have been but not now, they are just like a person going to college today.

But at the same time the Government seems to shun at the idea that some states have a militia and that they are growing.

We don't do coups in US. Impeachment is what we use. If we impeach Bush we get Cheney. They won't be in office too much longer. Besides, now we have a Congress that is willing to use its power of oversight to keep the executive branch from running amok more than it already is. The big day is January 20,2009 the day the new president whoever he or she is will be sworn in.

We are a democracy and we don't need coup. We have elected representatives in Washington who will use the Constitution to remove Mr. Bush - just like they removed another nut-job president, Mr. Nixon.

In a civilized society, armed coup is not necessary; the representative government will do it.

Do you know what a coup is? Are you suggesting the military get involved? Are you more concerned about removing Bush or preserving democracy?

Could it be because true American Democracy works??

For the same reason we didn't do it when Clinton was in charge:

PRESIDENT AL GORE (the AntiChrist) is why there was no military coup to replace Clinton.

The presidency is not a popularity contest...and we live in America where a "coup" would be a traitorous act.
