now? Champ Bailey, led in interceptions (10 INTs and 85 taks 22 pass defended). Chris McAlister (6 INTs and 47 taks, 22 passes defended), DaAngelo Hall is next (4 INTs and 51 taks 16 pass defended)
stats alone tells you this too
Hall is young and makes big mistakes. Bailey is older and understands the game much better, and McAlister too. but he has the most potential obviously, and can improve so much and he is very young, and i the future can be the next champ bailey OR can even be better. but to whoever said Hall was a horrible CB doesn't understand Corner backs much and how to play it. HAll has incredible speed but doens't use it well YET. once he gets the hang of it more, hell will be very good
who do i want on my team however, i would want DeAngelo Hall on my team. because in 2 more season i think DeAngelo Hall will top those 2.

Champ Bailey and Asante Samuel are the only 2 lockdown corners right now. Hall, McAllister and a couple others are very good and play in schemes that allow their talent to shine but Bailey and Samuel control their half of the field and allow the Broncos and Pats to roll safeties to the other receivers.

Champ Bailey is #1 without question, and this is coming from somebody who doubted him from mid-2004 until late 2006.
After the Monday Night Mishap, where Chad Johnson burned him for a deep score in the first quarter, I thought Bailey had lost several steps and was no longer a true shutdown corner. It took a redeeming performance against the same loudmouth receiver to restore my belief that Bailey is better than every other cornerback (and most receivers as well, the only exception right now being Marvin Harrison).

Champ Bailey is a clear cut #1.
For those of you saying that DeAngelo Hall is up there is simply ignorant. No offense, but the guy is fast, and has above average hands. If you watch the Falcons play, he sits in a zone most of the time. His tackling is decent, but his stats all come from sitting in that zone. He's athletically gifted, but needs to work on his coverage skill. He struggles against extremely physical WR's, especially in the middle. However, since he sits in an zone on the outside, he rarely has to go to the middle.

Champ Bailey, by far. Deangelo Hall is one of the worse corners in the NFL.
