La Llorona is a good one, a Spanish folktale about a woman who drowns her children & haunts water ways looking for other children to steal.

It depends on what you like. If you like Ancient mythologies, look that up, to be more specific, look up Roman mythology. If you unsure, Google Mythologies/ mythological stories and find something that interests you.

Read "Weird America" (I think that's the name of it), it has a lot of weird little myth-y stories in it.
