I was staying at a 3 star hotel in London and on th second night of my stay the lights went out, It was freezing, no hot water, etc AND the alarms went on 3 times in the middle of the night!!!

I heard some other guest in the morning saying that they should have emergency lights and that he would complain.

If I wanted to complain, who should I complain to? (ie some organization responsible for quality of hotels?!)

Just Complain to the Company's Corporate Office... they'll probably give You a Refund for Your Stay.

I guess it would all depend on what you want to come from your complaint.

I dont know much about London but if the power went out due to a freak of nature, complain all you want to but it will probably be a waste of your time and energy.

i might contact the owners of the hotel and see if they could credit part of the money you paid back to your account.
3 stars, I doubt it but it is worth a try!
At the end of the day, if i owned a hotel I would change the way I did things because one guest (or ALL the guests) made a complaint about what happened ONE night if the request was to install something that would cost 500k of my profits.
I would rather pay off everyone and keep doing business as usual
A generator would cost a mint to install and the benefit would not be the great
I wouldnt do it

I would go to the Library. Look up the address of the Corporate office and write them a letter. A 30 to 45 mins. investment could bring you a free nights stay or some other goodies. Good will is worth aloot to Corporations, word of mouth kills them, they know that,...Jack

i'd first write a letter to the inn chain. Then bypass on the internet and discover each and each and every of the web pages that cost motels and bash all of them over the internet. perhaps next time, they are going to be particular to compensate their travelers bu a free dinner or nights stay.
