Whats the best processor to buy for hardcore gaming?

Price isn't an issue just want the buy the bes.. any advice will be great.

If price truly isn't an issue, Intel's Core 2 Quad processor is top of the line, but if you are willing to wait, 8+ core processors are just around the corner. Good Luck.
