It's about 12/13yrs old, has a broken screen, battery's dead, impossible to get parts. Is recycling it an option or do I just toss it in the bin?

... OK, I actually had the same question myself. You can take any old computer to a computer shop and they'll send it to be recycled.

Put it in a smart case and take a night time stroll down a busy london street - believe me, it won't be long before you have it taken off your hands. Just a tip, wear a good pair of running shoes and a stab proof vest - take a friend for good measure. Hope this helps.

they had a thing on there the other day about charitys that colect old mobile phones and comps and stuff and they pay money for them to some times but they recycle them to,
they might be able to take it off your hands.

1. Donate to your local school district, library, etc. even if its not working. 2. Sell it a computer "junk yard" store; its still good as parts. 3. Give to somebody needy. 4. Check Yellow pages for recycle center or ask Dell if they recycle.

Take the computer back to where you got it and they will help you dispose of it. If you got it from somewhere far away, just take it to another place that sells laptops.

Firstly, physically destroy the hard drive to prevent data theft, then make an appointment to see Ken Livingstone (Mayor, for those who don't know).
Shove it down his throat, and say "that's for the congestion charge".
