If you'll be sitting on stage at some point during the ceremony, make sure your dress falls below your knees! If it's shorter, everyone in the audience will be able to see your underwear. The head of my middle school told us that about two weeks before middle school graduation. Obviously, he was male, or he wouldn't have known that we'd all bought our dresses months before. But it's still good advice.
Maybe talk to your friends about what they're wearing so you won't end up feeling over or under dressed? My dress for middle school graduation was white with red/orange flowers on it, but that was nearly six years ago, so I suppose that my sense of middle school graduation attire is a bit outdated. My sister's middle school graduation was more recent (but even that was three years ago), and I remember seeing lots of orangy reds and greens. In general, I'd say go for something sort of spring-ish (as oppposed to, say, a black party dress), but that could potentially be hard to find if you need something long enough to sit on stage in.
Without having ever seen you, it's kind of hard to know what looks good on you. I think that maybe a light green or purple, and if you're going to be sitting on stage then a little below the knee, but not all the way down to the floor. If you're not going to be sitting on stage, then you could go for something a little shorter if you want, but I'd still go for something not much above your knees, unless you have really skinny legs and short skirts look better on you (like my sister). If you're planning on wearing heels, go for a longer skirt (somewhere in the approximately half way between knees and ankles range) so you don't end up looking like a whore as can happen with too short a skirt and too high shoes.
Really, though, I can't tell you what will look good on you. My suggestion is go to the juniors department of your favorite department store and try things on until you find something you like. J.C. Penny usually has lots of fun dress that I consider the right kind of thing for a middle school graduation for not much money (that even my fashion-princess of a sister likes), and Macy's often has things as well.

Since it's 8th Grade you need it to be appropriate, but still something that will make you feel confident...Youre Graduating 8th Grade Congragulations Celebrate.
It depends, if you get a robe, i know that even at that age some schools do. If you are you want a dress that is just above the end of the robe, otherwise you'll look a little funny (no offense to anyone).
If no robe then do something below the knee but still sweet and casual. I dont know how fancy yours will be but they arent usually that fancy...at that age. Any colors go with your "look". I dont know your style, so wear something that fits your style but still a little fun and "graduation like"
Hope It Helps

last year at my eighth grade graduation we had a ceromony and a dance. For the ceremony since we were wearing robes over our clothes i wore a simple patterned summer dress with some flipflops. For the dance which was supposed to be formal a black dress with some fancier shoes.
i would look around at:
nordstroms
anthropologie
macys
boutiques in your area(these tend to carry smaller sizes too)
Aeropostale
even places like target can have cute dresses for way cheap

I would wear a long necklace that you can layer in sliver or in a bright color, also a braclet(bangles). If you want a formal jacket you could go with a blazer or you could go casual and just wear a shrug. If you HAVE to(like if its way to short of you'll get in trouble) I would wear leggings Forever 21 has cool long necklaces and bangles and kohls might have some jackets

Go with something timeless...just above the knee(i'm about your height, so i suggest nothing longer than knee-length!) in a sweet print or vibrant color like green, blue, yellow, or pink.
victoriassecret.com wetseal.com, jcrew.com have some really cute ones, depending on your style & budget.
good luck & happy graduation!

I'm good at this! I love fashion!!
For your age, nothing too revealing. Try a long dark colored one, matching shoes. Search eBay for one,if you haven't found one near where you live.
Make sure to accessorize,a bright, shiny necklace preferably the same color as your dress, with earrings to match.

Something modest. Don't buy anything too trailor...or trashy. Stay away from fads...but something classic, clean lines. You're an eighth grader so don't show anything you'll regret later.
