I am a freshman in highschool and signing up for courses next year.
I have the opportunity to take an AP class next year (a social studies course).

I was wondering if you guys think it will make any difference to colleges what year you take an AP class. I will have the chance to take the same class in two years.
Sorry if it seems stupid that I'm so worried about this now, but I have been told that is a mistake not to take all 4 of your high school years seriously.
Thanks!

Yes, you should definately take all four years seriously. If you do poorly as a freshman, it will bring your overall GPA down. I don't think a college would be any more impressed with someone who took 4 years of AP as opposed to someone who took 2 or 3 years of AP. If you really like the subject, you should take it because it will help get you used to the AP difficulty. It's not hard as long as you are interested in the subject.

take high school seriously b/c that is what colleges look at. It is good to take an AP class and it will benefit if you pass the AP exam in the end of the course. then you can have college credits. As long as you will be taking the AP class don't pressure yourself b/c I'm taking one and it is one of my hardest class.

First off, take high school seriously. Colleges like it when you take hard classes and put pressure on yourself. It doesn't matter when you take the AP classes as long as you do take them at some point I believe. Good luck

Looks really good to me, but remember, that none of the classes will count if you do not get good grades in them. So don't overload yourself on hard courses just for the universities.

The more AP classes you have had, the more colleges like it (don't overload yourself though).
