Celebrities could stay in the house all day. Or live very low key. If you live in hollywood and are a star, you're kind of asking for the attention. There's not that much they can do, other than not being a celebrity.

Most celebrities say something like "Please respect my privacy. I do not want pictures of my family and me circulated all over." Then they go "WINK WINK" to show the paprazzi how seriously to take that statement.
Other ones say "if you don't try to follow me around all day I will pose for one really great picture. Give me a moment to get rid of this underwear."

heard on the radio that Drew Barrymore calmly and nicely asks them to stop following her and taking pictures... and she said "if i let you take a picture with you, will you leave me alone?" and the photogs are like "can we take a picture with you?" and she says "yes", and they say "ok"...and she makes sure and says "you'll stop following me?" and they go "ok"... because she was really nice about it!

Nothing---if you want to be rich and famous, then that's the price you pay. If they don't like it, they should quit the business!
