Here is some information that I hope you find helpful.
From Movieweb.com:
The Bible gives us the story of the tower of Babel, the magnificently tall structure whose height was deemed offensive and impertinent by God. To punish humanity for its architectural hubris, God then decided to drive a linguistic wedge between the nations of the world, who until then had spoken the same tongue. As fables go, this is a particularly effective one in that it both illustrates a moral - don't think you're better than God or you shall be struck down with all speed - and also provides a handy answer to those who wondered why there are so many different languages anyway.
From Wikipedia:
The major theme of the film was how, due to cultural assumptions, people of different types are still unable to communicate to each other despite living in a modern world. The movie attempted to make each culture as human as possible by including culturally-transendent behaviors that all audiences could understand and relate to. Underneath the many different cultures and disabilities, these people are all simply doing what all humans do- a man worrying over his wife, a nanny taking care of children, young boys trying to better each other, teenagers trying to catch the attention of the opposite sex, etc. However, cultural assumptions and suspicions held against them prevent such an understanding, revealing the struggles with communication due to stereotyping that we still have today.

Babel refers to the biblical myth of the Tower of Babel. This was when a bunch of ancient peoples thought that they could get closer to God by building a big tower which, once completed, would be a stairway to heaven. God, was jealous and not pleased by these signs of human co-operation and therefore created different languages, so they couldn't understand each other and therefore couldn't work together, and instead wandered off into the desert. And thus was born language, and miscommunication.

There's a part of the Bible where man attempts to build an extremely tall tower because he's becoem too vain, so God created different languages (Babel = Babble). This way the people couldn't communicate, so the building was unsuccessful. The ancient city where it was built is also called Babylon.

the story behind the tower of babel is from the bible: people were trying to build the highest tower to get closer to God... He became angry and created different languages so that the people couldn't work together or understand eachother anymore to build the tower. supposedly it was left unfinished, and was finished later by a king.... is located in the middle east somewhere, and ancient babylonia is still around to this day.
haven't seen the film, but i think it's about people who are connected in different countries speaking different languages right?

I haven't seen the film, but I've been assuming it's a reference to the Tower of Babel (biblical) - see Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Babel

biblical reference maybe? people built the tower of babel really high to try and get to god but it didn't work (!) and everyone was punished by god - they all spoke different languages and didn't understand each other (probably where babble came from)

Those who made reference to Genesis got it right but missed something out.
God stopped mankind because they were advancing too quickly and would soon learn how to make them selves immortal. God destroyed the tower and made mankind confused by dividing their speech in to different languages before they advanced too quickly and become a danger to themselves.
I presume the film is about mankind getting too big for his boots and being knocked back down again.
Is it?
