I am an international student, with one more semester to go. I need money for next semester. My status only allows me to work on campus, which has a maximum of 20 hrs/week, I need more than that! That's why I want to get an off-campus job. I know this is wrong, but I have no other choice. Anyone know if I use my own SSN to work and pay tax, will anyone trace me down and deport me?

It seems that our government will turn a blind eye to this activity because the money you pre-pay for tax is not collectible by you. I do not think there is an effort to prosecute this activity. When you try to get the money you paid back that is where I think the problem will start. You must declare income to get a refund.

Although I am very against illegal immigration, I feel for you. You came here legally, and are working hard. I think your best bet would be to work under the table babysitting or maybe tutoring others that need your help. I don't think that they will track you down and deport you as long as you don't file a tax return next year, but if you want to come back you probably don't want to be working illegaly because they will probably run a check on what you are doing here this time

BEST OF LUCK!!
