A few years back the Raelians claimed to have cloned babies. Do you think with our level of science that this is possible? Did they really do it?

yes, that is not impossible.
Animal cloning is very common in now a days.
Future science world need of cloning technology.
Most of disease can be cured by stem cell (major source embryo)cloning method. Because next generation medicines will relay on the cloning and expression of particular gene.

No we haven't cloned humans yet.

The technology is almost there to make a safe clone, but there are still too many bugs in it. In general and by law in the many countries it is illegal to clone humans so it is going to take a while before someone does it. Few scientists want to get involved in illegal activates.

However, things change and someday a human will be cloned. Of course when you clone a human you only get a fertilized egg read for transplantation in a woman. The egg has no memory and the baby could turn out to be different from the original donor. They will look alike when you take in account the age difference. Other physical characteristics right down to the fingerprints and the genetic code will be identical, but their development will depend on a lot on their environment and instruction.

The level of science exists, but it has not been done with humans. One of the main reasons why (beyond the ethical and legal implications) is that manipulations to create the clone result in failure the majority of the time. It took 226 unsuccessful attempts before scientists were able to create the fusion clone that eventually survived to produce Dolly. So although the science is possible, it's not even close to being considered reliable.

Despite what some people may think, the task of successfully cloning a human is still beyond biological science. With luck and a lot of restraint it will remain so.

humans haven't been cloned yet. The technology isn't there yet to clone such complex organisms. Tissues which could be used for organ transplant have been cloned.
The real problem is the ethical considerations which have to be broached before a human is cloned.

> Have we cloned humans yet?
No.

> Do you think with our level of science that this is possible?
Not yet. We haven't cloned monkeys. I'd expect there to be a report of cloning monkeys (non-human primates) before there's a report of cloning humans.

> Did they really do it?
No.

We are working to improve the process and add some new controlled features to the clones.
However it is illegal, that is why the clones are all stupids, not enough moeny to work also on the brain! :-)
