I've been thinking of silver plating my nails. I don't know if its dangerous or not... I have naturally long fingernails, they're pretty strong. I'm tired of chipping polish, I hate the smell, but I like the smooth reflective finish... Has anyone ever tried or thought of trying silver plating? I had a cousin that had the very tips of her nails done, but not the whole nail... She says she woudn't cover the whole nail, and she mentioned something about removal... but I wasn't listening....

You should do some extensive research on silver plate before putting it on your nails. I would be concerned that there would be chemical compounds involved that would be dangerous if they were absorbed into your internal organs.

My husband had an aunt who worked in a china factory years ago, and when the employees had to use silver and gold in detail work, they had to wear masks and gloves so they would not be inhaling any of the particulate matter from the silver and gold.

It is extremely dangerous to have anything chemical cross into your body through your nails. Best of luck, and be careful.

I'm a guy and prefer women who don't polish their nails. I think it looks too artificial. I prefer women to have natural clean well taken care of nails that are polish free.

Avon sales this pretty cool stuff you peel and press on to your nails and it is already dry so you don't have to deal with the mess. I am not sure if it chips or not but I think it is better to try that than Putting silver platting. Since you have long nails it will work.

I don't know anything about silver plating but you could try going and getting your nails airbrushed it's like nail polish except it doesn't chip right away or as often as nail polish.

anything you put on your nails is going to be absorbed into your body so if anything in silver plating is bad for you then it will go into your body. look at the ingredients and see if there is anything harmful.
