for tmobile pre-paid ...can i use any phone i want or just the phones they have for prepaid?

Any phone on T-Mobile can be used as prepaid. The price is different for prepaid phones as to phone with a 2 year contract.

You can also use any unlocked GSM phone with the 1900 frequency.
