first, it costs money to list something as an auction on ebay. the cost of that depends on how much you start your bidding at, what type of auction it is (auction, buy-it-now, or auction + buy-it-now) and any extras you choose to put on the listing page. it will tell you how much each feature is as you set up a listing.

when you are set to list it, you can review, and it will tell you how much it costs to list so far.

after someone wins, you pay like 3-6 percent of the price you sold it for. so if it's 4.5%, and you sell it for 40 dollars, you will owe ebay $1.80

if you are paid through paypal, and have a commercial account (unless it's every account type now a days) you pay paypal like 3-5% of the total dollars transferred to your account as well.

there are 2 fees...the listing fee and the final value fee.
the listing fee is based on what you start the bidding at, or set the reserve to. If you start it at 99 cents with no reserve its like 35 cents to list it.
The final value fee is a percentage of the actual selling price it sells for. Something like a gamecube, should be less than $5 total
