Dylan's dad (Jack) was thought to have been killed by Tony Marchette, but he was really in a witness protection program. Then one day, Dylan and Steve were watching the news and noticed a man getting off an airplane who looked exactly like Jack.
Incidently, Tony Marchette was the father of Toni Marchette, who Dylan married towards the end of the series. Then Tony Marchette and his hitmen killed his own daughter, thinking it was Dylan driving his Porche.
After a few meetings, etc., Jack says he will leave the witness protection program for Dylan...but in the end, Dylan tells him to stay in the program.

If I remember correctly he was in prison. I don't remember what for. But I do know that at one point he came back to find Dylan, got him into some trouble, and ended up being blown up by a car bomb right in front of Dylan....Damn, I miss that show!

He was blown up by a car bomb. Dylan blamed a local mafia guy and tried to seek revenge only to fall in love with the mob guys daughter. He married her, but still sought revenge for his fathers death. In the end, the mobster and Dylans mutual disregard and attempts to kill one another ended up with the death of the only person they both loved, the daughter.

Yes - everyone is right - he did blow up with his car.. BUT - what everyone is forgetting is that Dylan (several seasons later) found out that his father was still alive and living another life in the witness protection program.

He was killed in a car explosion. Dylan was going to move his dads car, but he had a phone call . so his dad did, and when he put the keys in the ignition it blew up.

No he didnt kill himself, he got blown up - remember the car exploding and Dylan running to it.
wow this is reeeally sad, it has been YEARS since ive seen it and I can still remember that show so well...

I think he went into hiding. His wife of the mod was in a car that they thought was dillion that blew up. His mom is still a live. But I think his dad went into hiding.

Didn't he kill himself? Or someone must of killed him.. I seem to remember Dylan going after someone for the death of his father.
