I'll try to answer as best I can. Generally, the second peak growth spurt comes just before menarch (onset of menstruation) and growth slows down for 1.5-2years. However, that's just generalization. Some people grow beyond those years. For that reason, braces are usually done until 2 years after onset of period. However, if you take x-ray of your pelvis or wrist, you could observe bone maturity by measuring Risser Sign. Ask your scoliosis specialist about that. As for pelvic bone being wider or higher, severe rotation of lumbar usually causes that. There are some exercise therapies which've been effective according to small study which was done by ortho surgeon named Vert Mooney out in San Diego, CA which may be helpful in your case. You might also want to look into a brace called spinecor which could do some correction as well. Check out http://www.myscoliosis.net

I'm a 20 yr old with scoliosis, I was diagnosed at 12, and I grew a couple of more inches!! You should ask your doctor to recommend a physical therapist so that you can be taught proper excercise to treat the scoliosis(strengthen back muscles and abs!!), they might also get you a cushion for your shoe so that your hips look even. Some say you should wear a brace but excersice is definetely the best if you were diagnosed as a teenager because your not doing as much growing as a child would. Plus a brace w/out any excercise will just weaken your back muscles. The best of luck to you!!

After starting your period, girls more than likely don't grow much more, maybe an inch or two I've heard. And your pelvis widened probably because of your body developing into a young womans body, the pelvis changes so it can some day make room for babies.
Scoliosis can change pelvis's higher or lower on one side. Hope that helps. I'm sure you're perfect the way you are! Talk to your parents if you are not sure.

Unfortunately, it is true: rarely do girls ever grow much after they get their period. You are probably the only person who notices anything offf about your pelvic bones. As far as exercising is concerned, there's not much you can do to change the position or shape of your bones-- for the same reason that you can't exercise your scoliosis away.
Once your scoliosis is corrected, you will probably notice that the realignment changes the look of your hips, too. Don't worry about it-- you'll end up looking just fine.

I stopped growing some time after I started having my periods. As one of the other posters said you are also going thru some physical changes when it comes to entering womanhood so the body is going to spend some time catching up with itself.
I also have one hip higher than the other but I think it's due to one of my other medical problems. Eventually I will have it checked out by a dr to make sure I don't have something else more serious going on.
Pls talk to your mom about your concerns as well. If you can't do that pls talk to an adult friend that you trust.

you should be wearing a brace and this should help with your alignment. doctor's say that us girls only grow a few years after our period starts but they don' know everything. rely on your genetics. look at your parents. are they short or tall? this is a good indicator of what you will be when fully grown.(around 20 yrs of age) don't worry about your hips. your body is going through some major changes right now. if you are that concerned talk to your doctor about physical therapy

I was born with scoliosis and I am 5'7" I probably would be 5'8" or taller but you will keep growning after your period. If I didn't I would only be 5'3".
