My day started out with a huge fight with my ex-husband. Then, a sucky day at work and then I come home and I have a huge heating oil bill. When Mercury goes retrograde,my life seems to go haywire. What about you????????

Well, you're heating bill is historical: it's what you used last month, and Mercury didn't go retrograde in Pisces until Feb 13th.
Let's look at the areas you covered.
Ex-parnters (7th and perhaps 12 houses since 7th house is house of parnters and open enemies, 12th is secrets and secret enemies), and work (6th house of routines or 10th house of career).
So explain a scenario where a Mercury retrograde explains just those two things (as opposed to the one common element--you, and how you decided to handle things) because I am tossing out the heating bill as totally irrelevant.
BTW, my Mercury retrograde is going wonderfully. I am a Virgo, and Pisces is my 7th house, and I am not arguing with any ex, and I've had nothing but pleasant suprises (so far) despite hard trasits to my natal chart.
Life is what you make it or how you take it ... most of the time.
